A move!

To any followers somehow still caring about this space since February of aught 10, I apologize for uh. Not writing anything. I liked this name and wanted to keep it warm and all that good stuff for when I got around to writing regularly. I'm making another concerted effort though!

But it's not going to be here.

It's moving to the following two locations: Tumblr and Blogspot

See you there!!! I might move the posts from here over there, MAYBE.

Modern Family - "My Funky Valentine"

Modern Family tonight did the best it could with a somewhat clunky premise. Writers must get tired of being instructed to do the stock Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and Valentine's Day episodes every month. If they aren't tired of those holiday episodes, they could have fooled me. Not that this episode was terrible by any stretch, but the Valentine's Day premise did end up pairing off the adults into three neat and tidy stories that didn't feel that much like new ground.

Human Target - "Run"

In this day and age a straight up procedural has to do a lot to impress me. I've seen enough Law and Order for a lifetime. Human Target's main charm comes from its unique tone and disregard for ever making sense. Each week Christopher Chance breezes into a situation with infinite bravado, has more kick-ass action scenes than some movies, and then breezes out with flair. This week was no different.

Fall 09-10 Season: What's on?

September came faster than ever this year, and while that means the end of summer, it also means the beginning of the 2009-10 TV Season! There are and were a lot of good and fun summer series, but now the networks are kicking into high gear. This isn't going to be any sort of comprehensive list of shows this year - just the ones I'm going to watch and possibly write about. As with any season, there could be a lot of surprises that get added to my list later.

Whats Been On and What's Good: House

House -- Monday, March 9 -- "The Social Contract"

The patient: a publisher who unexplainably keeps saying whatever comes to mind, he loses his mental filter and proceeds to truthfully insult everyone he comes across. He is at first described as being connected to the real Phineas Gage, who apparently became like a different person after a railroad accident drove a large iron rod through his head.

Whats Been On and What's Good: Heroes

Heroes -- Monday, March 9 -- "Shades of Gray"

Highlights
We continue to wonder if Nathan Petrelli is a good guy or a bad guy. Noah is another big question. Matt's been framed with a bomb stapped to him; and we meet Sylar's dad played by John Glover (who was Lionel Luthor on Smallville). Claire gets a job working as a hot girl in a comic book store, a ruse so that she'll have extra time to help those with abilities hide from the government. Also, a mysterious person named "Rebel" has been texting all the heroes to help them on their different paths. The ending is such a cliffhanger....I'm not going to even describe it.

The Killer Robot Instability

"The Killer Robot Instability" manages to show off the best and worst parts of The Big Bang Theory simultaneously. Some of the offhand comments are really great("What part of America is that accent from?"), and the B-plot that's actually about the characters manages to mix humor and actually learning something about the characters. However, the A-plot is both insulting nerd-type humor and much of the standard sitcom dreck we've seen a hundred times before.
